In 2021, we were married on family property just next door to our ranch, standing beneath a giant oak tree in the pasture. At the time, we dreamed of someday owning land of our own, but we had no idea what that journey would look like.
In the fall of 2022, we purchased the property that would become Davis Oaks Ranch. We knew we wanted to be connected to the land and were interested in raising cattle, but we chose to take things slowly and learn as we went.
In 2023, we brought home our first three cows and quickly fell in love with raising cattle. What started as a curiosity soon became a passion. Today, we still have two of those original heifers and continue to grow our herd, adding four new cows this year as we expand our operation.
Our lives changed again in the fall of 2024 when we welcomed our son. Since then, we've embraced ranch life as a family, spending most of our days outdoors caring for the land, livestock, and the place we call home.
The ranch continues to evolve alongside us. In addition to our cattle, we grow a cut flower garden that brings beauty, pollinators, and a little extra joy to everyday life on the ranch. We've also recently added seven ducks as another step toward creating a healthy and diverse ecosystem on the property.
At the heart of everything we do is a desire to steward this land well. We are committed to regenerative practices that improve soil health, support healthy pastures, nourish our cattle, and create habitat for wildlife. We want to raise our children on land that is healthier because of our care and management than when we first arrived.
We see tremendous potential in this property and are grateful for the opportunity to learn from it every day. Our hope is that through thoughtful stewardship, healthy cattle, and a deep respect for the natural world, Davis Oaks Ranch can be a place that contributes in a small way to a healthier future for our family, our community, and the land itself.
Thank you for following along on the journey!
